Doctor Visit and Wisconsin trip!

Well went to the doctor and I got to hear the heartbeat. I was a bit sad because Cory wasnt there to hear it but he will be next appointment which is June 17th and we will get to find out what we're having... hmmm.. Boy or Girl what do you think? everyone is telling me we are having a boy.. but I'm not sure. Deep down my "motherly instinct" says boy too! Anyways... the Dr measured me and he said that now im measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule so now im actually coming into 18 weeks. I can't believe that i'm almost 1/2 way done with this pregnancy. Cory and I took a mini vacation to Wisconsin to see my family and both of our friends. We left Wednesday evening and flew up there. We just got back today (Monday). It was alot of fun to see everyone again... I'll attach a few pictures! It was very nice to be up there and not be doing anything related to the wedding. Very relaxing which was good! We took a couple walks on the Green Circle trail which is a hiking/biking trail that goes around Stevens Point. many many pics from that... hung out with Amy and Jeremy at Pete's and played darts... ate at many good places. It was a good trip... We even looked for Job's up there because with Cory's job at Cessna he's on his layoff notice right now and that will go til June 19th... Then he's out of there... We can not find him a job in Hutch or Wichita (Proally because Wichtia is getting so hard hit with layoffs). So, we looked for jobs up north and applied at several... We'll see if he gets a call this week... if so we may be heading back up to Wisconsin which is fine by me! Just a waiting game now.... Here's some pics from the trip:
this is us eating at Harbor Bar right on the water...
Not too far from my mom's house... Wisconsin River and Kayaks

3 Days til Vacation/ 15 weeks along!

Not much to update just thought I'd post something on here. Let's see... we are heading home on wednesday to Wisconsin for a long weekend vacation it will be nice to be home and see some friends. :) It will also be nice to be up there and not do anything related to the wedding! Phew! I'm 15 weeks along now... says the baby is about the size of an apple! Getting more and more exciting! Have a doctor appointment this week before we leave for vacation and hopefully hear the heartbeat since we didnt hear it last time due to being 11 weeks so Dr said I was just a little too small yet to hear anything but this time we should hear it! I'm still feeling tired quite a bit but have realized I do have more energy during the day while at work now so thats good. here's the baby update from baby center this week: Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.") Happy Memorial day everyone!! Next time I blog it will be either in Wisconsin or about our trip!! :)

GOING HOME!!!

Well its official we are heading home to Wisconsin May 20-25! I'm sooo excited... We have not been back since our wedding back in August! That was way to long ago!! It's time to go back and I kept begging Cory that we need to go back before I cant travel anymore due to pregnancy... So we deicded might as well go for a long weekend. So we cancelled our camping trip and bought plane tickets and leaving wedesnday may 20th after work and heading back memorial day monday. I cant wait. I dont know what we are going to do while we are up there... but I dont care as long as I'm back in my hometown again.. I could sit on my butt the whole time but I dont think that will be happening. I cant wait to see all my friends and Cory's group of friends up there are getting together a cookout thing for us to see everyone which will be fun!! The time will go fast but it will be worth it. I'm not sure when we'll be able to go back up North... epseically with the baby coming... Since Baby's First Christmas will be down here and then hoepfully next summer we can head up there... since i'll have 2 weeks of vacation by then!! My plan right now is im taking the normal 6 weeks off of work and then im going to go back part time working only Monday/Tuesday/ and 1/2 of wednesdays for 6 weeks. That will get me through Febraury So that will be nice!! Thats about it for now... We are not camping this weekend either due to the weather is going to be raining all weekend off and on. So we will be home not sure what we are going to do... Oh well.. Hope all is well with everyone!!

12 Weeks

Well im in the 12th Week of Pregnany which means I'm almost done with the first Trimester and hopefully I'll have more energy come the 2nd trimester. I've just been soooo tired working all day I'll come home and feel like I need a nap before dinner then i'm still in bed by 8:30. Oh well. Could probably be the weather that we've been having too.... Rainy yucky days.... Cloudy and just gloomy puts people in bad moods and tired! Oh well!! Being 12 Weeks along I'm the size of a Lime and growing more and more everyday. Cory says you can tell that I have a bit of a belly but who knows yet. according to online it says that the baby can kick back now if I push on my belly however I wouldnt feel it kick yet... couple more weeks for that. Along with the continued excitement of the baby coming... comes the sad news of Cory got his layoff notice again at work and so now we play the waiting game. the layoff notice goes for 60 days and we are hoping that they dont have the employee's work and he can stay home for the 60 days and go out and look for a different job... one closer to home here in Hutch... I told him to go and look for a job in Wisconsin but we cant move yet unfortunatly... Even though we both want to move back there as soon as we can! But again now with Baby coming we'll be Kansans' for awhile now. I think thats it for now.... Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can get outside and wash and wax the camper this weekend to be ready for our first outing next week at the lake! Its just going to be Cory and I and our Camper.... RELAXING!!!! Not planning on doing a thing that weekend but just relax. We both need that!!

It's Almost Camping Season!!! :)

Yay!! It's almost camping season! We pick up our camper out of storage on Wednesday and Im sooooo ready to head out to the lake for the weekend!!! :) We finally have some dates booked for camping: May 8-10 May 22-25 June 26-28 Thats all we have booked so far but I know there will be more. We will probably be camping for our 1 year anniversary weekend too.. I guess it's better than sitting at home! But we'll book that more when we know the jbo status of Cory's job. We dont have anything booked in July yet because we are going to come home to WI in July!!! :) Yahoo!!!!! I can't wait! We havent been home since the wedding and that was a long time ago already!! In other news.... I'm 11 weeks now and feel fine. I read online that the baby is about the size of a Fig and can open and closed it's fingers and make fists. Im getting excited for our doctor appointment this week as i was reading we may be able to hear the heartbeat for the first time! I'll update more after the doctor appointment!! :)

The Video!

This is the Video we showed to our family to announce the baby!!!

Introducing Baby Kowitz

Well this weekend Cory and I finally announced that we are pregnant! It all went very well. My mom drove down from Wisconsin Thursday evening and then Friday night we had Cory's family over for dinner. After dinner we told everyone we made a video of some updated pictures and what not and for them to check it out. So they all watched in disbelief they congratulated us. It was fun. Very nerve wrecking but it was still fun. My mom is all excited! :) I'm 10 weeks now and I feel great. I have been feeling great so far... just some nausea but nothing I cant deal with. Seems to be that Sprite and Soda crackers are my friends. But i'm living. I havent missed any work yet so I think i'm doing very good.

Black Belt testing and A Spring Blizzard

Well Cory tested for his black belt Friday night into Satruday morning. This was a 12 hour test and of course Kansas had this wonderful Spring Blizzard happening. We were reported to have 6-10 inches of snow. Last night Cory left about 8 and headed to the school and I stayed home and relaxed... then this morning the plan was to drive to the school and take pictures of everyone getting their new belts. Well i opened up the garage and realized there was no getting my car out because the snow was just that deep. So, I said "I'll walk there it's not that far"... Started walking and barely made it... Luckily a Coworker saw me walking and picked me up and took me to the school. So got there and they were just handing out the belts. Cory got pictures taken.. then we tried to get his car un buried from sitting at the school all night. We eventaully got out of there... then we were 2 blocks from home and we got stuck int he snow because our raods were not plowed out yet. Luckily a cop pulled up in a big truck behind us and tried to help us get out but couldnt the policeman said "just leave your car here and we'll take you guys home... we've been telling everyone to just leave cars where they are and coem back and get them later"... there were no EMS/ no Tow trucks going today. WONDERFUL! Then they told us when we were coming up to our house that Hutchinson got 18 iinches of snow... Thats just nuts! We hopped our snowbanks and came inside. We both took naps after eating soem breakfast... Got up from the nap and went outside to try and shovel the driveway a bit. The snow was way to heavy.. We have a little path we'll work on it more later. We deicded to walk down to Cory's car and try and dig it out. So here we go down the street whith shovels in hand and go dig out cory's car... we go back and forth with the stupid vehicle and fianlly i just floor it and back all the way out to main street and almost hit soembody but hey we got out of that mess.. Finallyw e saw the plow coming for our streets so i said just go drive around for a bit until we are sure the street is plowed. drove through town which wasnt bad roads were okay for the most part. So, came home and plow put lots of snow in our driveway.. so car is now parked in the street and we came inside... no more shoveling for today.. alot of it has melted but ugh.. its way to heavy!!! Anyways here s a few pictures of our last 24 hours!!

A weekend in Topeka

We went to Topeka this past weekend for a Karate Tournament. Amy and Tyler and their kids Tristin and Rylee came with us and also Carla came with us too!! We had our school perform and we got first place. then everyone did their own indiviual forms and Tristin got 2nd, Carla got 2nd, I got 3rd 9Judges couldnt add up the scores correctly otherwise I would have had 2nd). Cory took first in weapons, and his forms. So all in all it was a good learning experiecne for everyone's first tournament. After the tournament we ate at Boston Market which was wonderful!!!!! Then we went to the Topeka Zoo and that was fun... saw lots of stuff.. then we went to the Topeka Mall which is bigger than Town East Mall in Wichita. We were really tired after walking everywhere so we headed back to the hotel and played in the pool and then we all changed and we went out to Hooters for dinner. Back to the hotel later and I think everyone just crashed. It was really a fun weekend to just get away from everything.. Work, home, yardwork stuff that will be starting up now. I am so loving the weather... it's wonderful... except when you have a cold. Cory was so generous in sharing his cold with me, I wasnt feeling very well starting saturday night. I came home from work at lunch today and took a 3 hour nap . I feel a bit more awake now. So i'll go to bed early tonight too and hopefully get feeling better soon!
Tyler, Tristin and Cory Carla, Amy, Rylee, Stephanie
Hope everyone is doing great. Happy St. patty's day tomorrow!!

Sam Goes to the Vet

Well, last friday night Sam got out of the house and was gone. So we let him wander and figrued he'd come back... Saturday morning he came back and was limping... could hardly put his left back leg down. We checked it and didnt see any bite marks but it looked like his foot (would be our ankle) was really swollen... So we watched it for the rest of the weekend and he wasnt eating/going to the bathroom/ just laying around all day. Monday I called the vet and they got him in right away. They kept him overnight and ended up doing an Xray on it...He has a hairline fracture so they had to splint it up. Poor guy. Tuesday I got to go pick him up from the vet. so now he's living in the basement so he doesnt have to do the stairs and he doesnt have to hop to far to his litter box, bed, and food. poor guy. We go back next week to see how its doing, and then again in another 6 weeks to have more xrays done on it and hopefully get the splint off ot it. He hate thes plint. he's chewing on it and we dont know what we can do to stop himfrom chewingon it... Poor guy! :(
This was right when we got home from the vet Tuesday
